Ima has launched multiple collections with her works featured in boutique shops across Melbourne, Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore, graduating in 2006. Currently, she is focusing on silk and textile design, bringing her vibrant vision to new mediums.
Ima’s passion for art ignited at a young age, with her colorful paintings gracing the walls of her family's resort in Sri Lanka. During her studies at Musaeus College in Colombo, her talent was recognized through numerous awards. This rich background fostered a deep love for art and the natural beauty of her homeland, influences that continue to shape her work today.
A former student of the renowned Cora Abraham Art Classes in Colombo, Ima’s creations embody a unique blend of cultural heritage and artistic mastery. Now residing with her family in the tranquil suburb of St. Lucia, Brisbane, near the Brisbane River, she draws inspiration from her Sri Lankan roots and global travels, infusing her artwork with depth, vibrancy, and cultural richness.
Ima’s passion extends beyond her personal creations to nurturing young artists through her St. Lucia art studio. Dedicated to inspiring creativity in children, she encourages them to explore their artistic potential and experience the joy of self-expression. Her work also supports underprivileged children in Sri Lanka, channeling art as a tool for positive impact.
